The Ladies of Derm, pt. 1

Rain, rain, go away
Come again some other day.

It has been raining here for three days, and the pond in the backyard has become alarmingly high. I think it's eyeballing my back porch while harboring secret hopes of reaching my living room.

Now to round out my cast of characters that you will be reading about on a regular basis, here is a brief description of some of the women that surround me 5 days a week, 9 hours a day:

Sara*- Nurse to LM, her and I resonate most of all the people that I work with. She is intelligent, empathetic, high energy and pre-menopausal. She probably weighs roughly 95 pounds soaking wet, hides food in drawers and manically cuts and colors her hair. One fine morning she came in and immediately confessed to cutting her own bangs, until that day I wasn't aware that "bangs" also grew out of the sides of your head.

Erin*- Nurse to CJ, she is the youngest out of the group, but acts like she's seen it all. Brown-nosing is her specialty, she's in love with her doctor and she likes to wear her white t-shirts reaaalll tight over a B-cup Wonder Bra. Erin's a born extrovert and has a wicked sense of humor; she'll do anything for a laugh which causes me to forgive her just about anything.

Ann*-Oh, Christ. Ann is a neurotic mess. It's difficult to work around her because she is always spazzing out or off crisising somewhere, in my field, that will get you fired faster than stealing Viagra samples. This is her first job nursing, she's in her late forties and has two young children and a husband that works at Lowe's. Ann has never found her "niche" in life and her career has gone through many incarnations. Ann has sold cars, worked in a salon, sold jewelry, real estate and high end clothing. She had a botched eye job a few years ago and consequently looks just like my Siamese cat.

Tomorrow's installment: Peggy, Christy and Barbara. How to take home flu vaccine without getting caught!!
*All names have been changed to protect the innocent. I'm tired of coming up with clever intials that I can't keep straight.
